Heed The Warnings Of Tax Increases Ahead

Published on November 18, 2020 by Don Anderson
We're all seeing many warning signs in Canada about the potential and likely increasing tax (income and consumption taxes), both federally and provincially. These changes will be designed to take more and more income and savings out of our pockets to fund the ever-increasing government budgets at all levels.

At this time, discussions within our life insurance industry have not mentioned any changes that would lessen the value that can be found by shifting savings over to the asset class called life insurance, both personally and corporately.

The dual combination of getting solid, steady returns for the next ten to twenty years, while protecting the family or business for a lifetime, could play an important role in helping professionals and business owners take that next step into retirement or to hold on to their long-term investments like real estate and business ownership, despite the stormy waters ahead.

Further information about the various tax changes be considered can be found online in places such as MoneySense.
